Recently, while checking my spares on three LCs, I was surprised to find that the rubber bumpers attached to the frame had ground dirt/sand well through the finish on my wheels in several different locations. A few spots even had some metal/material ground away by the dimples. To avoid this in the future, I bought a contractor pack of (3) Eastman 30 ID plastic Water Heater Drain Pans from Lowes for $45. I cut a 5” hole in the center for lift chain/hook access and trimmed off the curled outer lip with a razor knife. The outer wall is beveled out, so even at the stated 30” inside diameter, they sat nicely on my 32” tires. They tuck nicely up into the frame rails and rear hitch assembly. Now when I crank the spare up, the rubber bumper pads (and dirt) stay on the outside and the wheel finish is protected.

You can see the damage in this pic off a 2019 LC.
