My elderly mother is in the market for a new car, and after doing the research for her, I recommended that she take a close look at the Lexus RX350. So, since it was nice day today, I drove my mother over to a local dealer that specializes in used luxury cars - Atlanta Luxury Motors. As soon as we pulled up in front of the showroom in my 2000 LX470, a salesman quickly walked out, and made a beeline straight for me. Thinking that this eager beaver salesman was going to lay on his best sales pitch to sell me a car today, he instead said, "Nice looking LX, I hope you're coming in to trade or sell it, because that thing is in high demand." I laughed and said, "Sorry, she's not for sale. I'm actually here to help my mother buy a car." The salesman said, "You sure, because I've had several people come in here looking specifically for an LX470 (not a newer 570) in decent condition, and they're willing to pay well above Blue Book." I said, "Seriously, I'm here to buy a car, not to sell my truck." The salesman looked genuinely disappointed.

Made me feel pretty lucky to have my Hundy...not that I needed any confirmation, but it was nice to hear...

Oh yes, that sounds familiar... I was at the Toyota dealership years ago looking for a second car and the sales guy asked me what year my truck was... I said '98... he seemed like a bit of a prick and he told me (politely) that I was full of it, then went to look at the registration... Enough said
