Somthing strange

Hi all, I have a HJ60 with a 2H and after about 30 - 40 mins of highway driving the fuel and water temp needles raise to point stright up. is this an indocater for somthing or what.

Appreciate any help.

yes, time change for the calorstat/thermostat or whatever you call it in your country! And also clean the fuel tank gauge plug!

randandrew, many a 60 series owners has held their breath and added a few gray hairs when they saw this, but this is an electrical issue, a gremlin of sorts, and can be fixed. If you do a search, the steps to take are listed in a post by KLF.

Exiled is correct, its the ground in the fuel gauge, you can try to clean it up or replace the fuel gauge($35) and it will fix both temp and fuel. I had a little lukck cleaning mine, but in the end I replaced the guage.

Thjanks Guys for your help, I lifted the new carpet i had layed in the back
and cleaned the contact points to the fuel gauge.

They were talking about the electrical contacts behind the gauge cluster or instrument panel in the dash.
If it comes back again, you might try there.
