Was out of town for a few days, but when I returned I was able to collect a large pile of parts from the Powder Coater and my brake parts for the rear axle had also came in so I am hoping to start the reassemble on Monday. Was able to get the tires on the rims I had powder coated...other parts I had powder coated were the front grill and headlight retainers.

Had a few hours with the truck today. Went through both rear drum brake assemblies and replaced most parts with new. Unfortunately both parking brake pulleys were trashed and one of the retaining pins was abused making the stock parking brake setup no longer a feasible option without replacing both backing plates. Normally not a huge deal not having parking brakes...however the Allison Transmission used in this truck doesn't have a "P" position, so unless the truck is parked on perfectly flat ground with no wind it will wonder wherever it wants when you are done driving it for the day.

So going to go with option #2. As the truck now has atlas transfer case just going to order one of their parking brake units for the truck. Down the road I will most likely get a rear disk brake axle for the truck when this axle gets a little more tired.

The rest of the time was spent with reinstalling the transmission cooler, inter cooler, radiator and A/C condenser.

Which Cummins motor is this?

Little insight into the heart of this beast:

Baby Cummins 4 cylinder
Can produce 155+ PS
255+FTLB
Allison Automatic Transmission
Atlas Transfer Case

Been spending time on the rear bumper while waiting for the Atlas Parking brake from Advanced Adapters....only to find out they lied about having it in stock. At least the rear bumper is coming along nicely...here is a ****py cell phone pic:

Before and After Engine Compartment Shots. Only thing missing for the diesel in the aluminum overflow tank for the radiator as the one I had on the shelf was too large.

Also got the grill with new emblem and headlights back in....had a little surprise by one of my vendors as they gave me a set of LED lights to try out so what better place to mount them.

Still finishing up some wiring for the a/c and Allison. Also changed out the turn/wiper switch with a new unit also the same for the ignition switch as the old units were a little tired.

Got the rear bumper back from the powder coater today. First photo is what came on the truck....think the new bumper looks a little better.

The truck is up and running again...although still waiting on parking brake parts....thats why they invented wheel chocks:) Still several things that will need adjustments as things break in..a/c needs to be charged, shift pattern adjusted, linkage for tc needs adjusting...but otherwise the truck drives very well. I have taken her on several short journeys already and nothing has fallen off! Truck has a simple mount for the automatic shifter and twin sticks for the transfer case. I will probably build in cup holders and other goodies to the mount for the automatic shifter. Still up in the air as to what I want to do for the front bumper...do I take the easy route and buy an ARB bumper? Or do I build a custom tube bumper of some sort? Either way I am not real fond of the current set up but it will do for now. Two more photos...one of the automatic shifter and tc shifters and one of the truck sitting outside the shop after a short run.

Put in the new parking brake and now waiting on the drive line as it had to be modified. Keep getting pulled away from this truck for paying jobs. Decided I didn't like the shifter and going to modify a Lokar to work with the Allison...think it will look and work better in the cab.
Chasing a few bugs in the programming, things are no longer simple with diesel engines:frown:.
