Could be a few things.

*ASSUMING THIS NOISE ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE HUBS ARE LOCKED AND IN 4WD*

I would start easy.

Drop the drive shaft and check the u-joints
Then check the front t-case out-put for play
Then check the pinion flange for play
Make sure the 30mm stake nuts are tight at both the pinion and the t-case output.
Turn the pinion and feel for anything wierd. (though most differential failures cant be felt by hand.)

If all turns out.

Start at the wheels
Make sure the hub bearings are good.
Make sure the wheel bearing pre-load nuts are tight.
Make sure the wheel bearings are good.

Then

Drop the differential and check the bearings and ring and pinion.
My bet is U-joint, or (sad to say) it sounds like typical ring and pinion failure noise, maybe cracked or chipped teeth.

Bottom line: None of it is expensive or difficult.

Got in last night pretty late and was too cold to try anything thanks for the help and the offer of services... much appreciated....
Work til 8 tonight, work 24hrs shift wed to thurs, work thirty hr shift of friday/Sat

Not too much time to play with her. I emailed scott and he said to bring her over for the tech day...

Still not too sure if i want to get the sliders and try to get those done too?? I am afraid whatever is wrong with my frontend will take forever and i don't want to monoplize tech day.

Hopefully see y'all there,
