Sorry if this has already been asked somewhere, but I'm not sure the proper part names.

When rebuilding my front bearings and seals, I'm seeing an additional 'linkage' that looks like it could be a steering linkage connected to the right side (passenger in US) steering knuckle.

Pictures are attached, hoping someone might recognize what it's for. The linkage connected to the tie rods is factory, but this other part?! I can't find any information online. For a steering stabilizer?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hello,

That arm is not OEM.

Perhaps the PO tried to install a second steering damper, or attempted a SOA conversion. I bet your steering is a little heavy and not so precise.

You should get rid of that arm. Then you should replace the tie rod ends and the steering damper.

And since you are in the neighborhood, have your rotors checked. Those rust marks on the disk look suspicious. Maybe they are not anything serious, maybe you have to replace the rotors. The only way to know for sure is by checking them.

Hope this helps.
