Some Pictures Pre/Post OME Install

Here is a picture of my FJ after the 1st OME install. What do Greg Louganis and my FJ have in common? Both were diving big time!

Although it worked out nicely for Greg I was NOT very happy about this for Quixo+e!

The problem, as it turned out, was that the Pep Boys inverted the lower spring seat during the install. I was very suspicious when I got the assembeled struts back but after being assured that it was correctly installed I gave in.

Pep Boys - may thee be smitten with boils from head to toe!

(Nothing like the Old Testament for cursing!)

So then we went to a nice locally owned business to have the struts done. Not only did they do the work correctly but they also aligned the mount so we didn't have to twist and turn the shock to get it installed.

Here I am adjusting the cotter pin on the tie-rod. Again. I hate having to do things over but it went much faster!

A little bubbly to soften the mood and drive off the spleen. If you wish to undertake this project, and are a neophyte like me, I recommend regular infusions! ;p

Be mindful that you might get a petrolatum nose followed by a Unicol mid-palate...

Here is the FJ in San Francisco.

The space outside our garage explodes in a riot of graffiti. At night the broken glass glitters like heaps of diamonds in the moonlight.

The Pep Boys that did the work 1st time around are located in San Carlos. I only had them do the spring compression part as I didn't want to tackle that portion. The rest I did myself...
