For Sale Sold Late Model FJ40 Steering Column

Came with extra parts with vehicle purchase, I'm not going to use it. Salvage marking on it indicates it was from a 1982. As far as I know everything I have for it is pictured.

edited: It has been determined through forum help, thanks all, that this is a non-ps late model fj40 steering column, that can be cut and redrilled to use as ps length column if needed.

Are you sure the 82 had power steering? Not all 82 had power steering.

No, that was my possibly incorrect assumption. A quick search seems to show that the lower shaft can be cut and drilled if it was not originally on a vehicle with power steering. I did not find the lengths to definitively answer this yet, but ps version is approx 30mm shorter.

Thank you, looks like this is from a factory non ps vehicle, but can be cut and drilled to fit as needed.

*was that measurement from the outside of the rag joint flange to the outside of the end of the removed shaft? My measure of 8 3/8 doesn't seem to jive with the 30mm difference I've seen referenced.

Yes length overall, the 30mm is the pin location

Thank you for the measurement and info. I did find another link that has some pictures to demonstrate the differences visually as well. The difference in length does seem to be 30mm or 1.181" using more accurate measurements than I was able to obtain.

bottom two sub shafts are the late model ps and non ps versions.

So this is certainly a non-factory power steering version for a late model fj40, which can be used in a non-ps vehicle as is or modified as described to accommodate a power steering conversion/ and or keep original parts on hand.

Are you referring to a steering wheel lock button, or is there a difference? This column does not seem to have a provision for the steering lock button.
