man I wonder how many BTUs that thing is rated for...something like that would fit between the seats of my pig-up truck.

Says 3,500 BTUs in the article. To do that they must have had a real breakthrough. That's 35+ BTUs pumped per Watt of energy used. They say it only needs a 100W solar panel to run and can charge while running.

edit...forgot about the NDA...

Total BS. 3500 btu is about 1000W of heat. Even with good 3:1 AC heat pump efficiency you have 330W of power to run the AC. Use a battery and see how long you enjoy cool air... And 100W solar panel, haha, that would help if you used it as a hat to keep the sun off you.

So much utter crap/bs on kickstarter...

george.

Coolala seems just a BIT SUS...

About us Coolala Air Conditioning (took a bit of work just to find the website)

They claim annual output of 100 million AC units.... yet need to kickstart to build a new AC - ha ha ha...

Seriously bad smell about the entire website & campaign. Their website has some serious chinglish b/s going on. Not even a company address or any 'real' information. Seems like they have announced/bombed/youtubed a bunch of stuff the last few days.

They'll maybe build something, but there's too much non-information for me to have any faith with delivery 1 yr away...

cheers,
george.

Super dumb. Apparently the laws regarding the conservation of energy to not apply to the Zero Breeze. I mean you place an energy using thing in the center of a room and it cools it to 44 degrees? Maybe if it started at 35 degrees.

It's like trying to cool your room by opening your refrigerator. Since the refrigeration cycle is maybe 30% efficient the other 70 percent of energy used is waste heat. What a joke.

But buried in the FAQ is this:
"When using it indoors you must run the hose out your window. The hose is designed to release the hot air that Zero-Beeze generates, so it requires an exhaust pipe when using it indoors."

So it's basically a window A/C unit that doesn't fit in a window. And powered by a battery that overheats. Or an AC adapter that also overheats.

And the comment section is quite funny. The battery overheats, the condenser doesn't run, it's obviously junk. And the poor fools that bought one are surprised the company won't respond.

I want an A/C unit powered for eternity by dilithium crystals or a Mr Fusion. The size of a football but powerful enough to cool my house and garage. Then, I'd help fund the kickstarter.

Coolala has a bunch of other products on amazon. Mostly inexpensive electroics.
