I was having a soft brake pedal and took my 2013 LC to my shop. They found error code C 1452 brake master cylinder solenoid. I have no warning lights on the dash.

My shop told me they could not do anything more because there was some Toyota specific programming in the replacement. He also told me in his experience Toyota will replace the entire master cylinder not just this part.

I take the truck to the dealer tomorrow. Anyone else had to deal with this situation?

Thanks

Unless I'm mistaken, not sure if the trouble code is right or the scanner they used mapped it to another number. For the 200-series, the equivalent code would be C1256 - Accumulator low pressure.

Irrespective of code, barring another odd fault or power issues, all things point to the likelihood that you'll need to replace the whole master cylinder ABS/Pump/Solenoid assembly. It's not unheard of. It's not a cheap part at a bit over $1k, but labor to replace it is not bad (doable in 1-2hrs) and straightforward.

Have you had battery issues recently? Could be low pressure because of low power from the battery. Maybe worth clearing and seeing if it comes back. Then again, this isn't a part to mess with as it's critical to braking, ABS, and stability control. It should definitely give you a CEL if it's degrading into a real problem.

The batteries are good. The shop kept clearing the code and then driving the truck and the code came back . No dash light just a code through their high speed code reader.

Hi,
Any update on this topic?
What was the diagnostic from Toyota?

I experience quite a similar issue, the pedal is soft on the first press, next are “normal”. Was it the same for you?
Thanks!

I took the truck to the dealer and they could not get the code to return. They recommended flushing and replacing the brake fluid since it had never been done. (143,000 miles) That has seemed to have helped. Next on my list is to upgrade the brake lines.
