I posted a thread recently in the 60 tech side of the house asking what extra parts I should take along on the 5000 mile round trip as spares that I forgot to think of. I received many suggestion, Thank you.

My questions to you all here are:

I'll be driving East on the 40 or the 10 to Norfolk, VA to visit family and enjoy Thanks Giving.

What is there to see in S. AZ, NM, TX, AK, and TN along that route or not to far off the beaten path?

On the return I think we may take a slightly Northern route through the southern part of: KY, MO, KS, CO, UT, and through the Northern part of AZ?
Been to the Grand Canyon and Flagstaff as my wife attened NAU.

Any and all suggestion are greatly appreciated.

I knew you guys are up in FB, I'll be up in Richmond for several days so I'll try to stop in and Say hi. I will also be in FB in Jan or Feb for a 28 day recertification course and will try then as well if I have the time.

Take care.

TN? Heading to Va, you should be coming close to Ashville, NC. Biltmore Estate & Gardens in the Fall is awesome. Great wine & food! Views are breathtaking. Mountain roads from TN through to Ashville can cause a few fights if she gets car sick though... husbands seem to like taking the curves on two wheels!

So Thiery, How did you think to look up boerboel313 and know this was me? Hazmat man uh? I will try to get your way in the fall, I'll have to see. Maybe you can give me your address of your home in a PM or email so I can look in up on Google or Zillow all check out those 6 acres behind your LC.

Um...don't flatter youself Jarhead. Since it's your thread, I will break from the script and tell you I was actually looking for a BJ!:ban:A client was restoring a '54 (or '55) soft top. I Googled "Toyota BJ" for window shape ref/attachment options... got mud! Didn't see the BJ... ADD kicked in though, and I found myself reading comments from the funniest group of folks ever!

It was your "quiet" avatar, and witty comments in a thread that caused me to scroll to the name. I wondered if you were the short, chunky, bald guy I once knew. Married? Nah...

Why PM the address? It's 2346 Shallowford Village Rd. I'll be on the porch, or we'll leave the light on for y'all! Drive safe.
I hear Blackwater offers anonymity courses for PSC's, stop in.

Short Chunky Bald Guy. You must have me confused with someone else. I was a VABCH Lifeguard and still am 6'2", 200 pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal. olo. Never short and never chunky. You were right in thinking I'd retaliate.

So you were, are looking for a Bj. Funny, so am I. No need to reply to that.

Mudders..... man or women, big, small, short or tall are some of the best people in thw world. I come here with all my cruiser questions.
I think I'm going to sell my restored White 1977 Fj40 though. It just sits covered the drivway. Maybe I'll list it when I get out of this S$%t hole of a country.

alot to see around the "four-corners area"..(google-it)..
south CO/north NM and north pan handle of Texas is cool....

there is a small canyon area in north Texas thats pretty cool....

don't cut thru the Boston Mtn's unless you want the very scenic route...and very slow route....:hillbilly:

I would choose the lower route for sure...unless looking at acres and acres of corn/soybean appeals to you....or if hunting deer and pheasant are your thing...then go for Kansas...

goodluck....

Very cool thanks, I'll check them out.
