Hey man, same boat as you. I have an HJ61 in LA. I’ve yet to find anyone around here that knows there way around the 12HT.

I now make the drive up to Stockton to take my truck to Valley Hybrids/Cruiser Bros. George who runs the shop is super knowledgeable and the shop is the US distributor for Whole Sale Automatics and Terrain Tamer.

Hell, I’ve had a hell of time just getting anyone to work on my FJ62. All the shops that people used to go out aren’t what they used to be. I’ve taken my trucks in to K&H & Glendora Import Specialist with limited luck.

What kinda of work you looking to get done?

Hey guys ! I may not very helpful for you but... I live in Montréal area and I have a 3B, a 12HT and a 1HDFTE. Since 2003, finding a mechanic to work on my engine was not realy as important to me. I mean.... pretty much nobody in a of 200+ miles radius form my home know more than me how to work on these engine. Don't get me wrong, my education and my job skills are very far from the field of mechanics.

I get all my skills from the Toyota FSM and... IH8MUD ! As for the rest of the Cruiser, body, chassis, suspension, brake, alternator, ... I also learned with the means previously named and I can consider myself well skilled.

Obviously it's different if you don't want your hands dirty but for that ...

Note that I don't mean to be condescending, of course. Rather, this is an encouragement to invite you to get involved in the upkeep, maintenance, preparation and repair of your good old beast. After all, at this age, you have to be prepared for any field repair into the wild!

Take a look here if you can find what you are looking for : Recommend a Cruiser Mechanic in your area - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/recommend-a-cruiser-mechanic-in-your-area.42646/

Good luck ;)

Yes i get it, and it is what i got myself into buying this truck.
I just want someone on call in case something serious happens. For example, when i bought the truck the injectors needed to be rebuilt, it was nearly undrivable due to smoke. That is not something i could have sourced and tackled myself on my street parking. Best!
