Just bought a 2015 GX460. I originally was looking at an 09 470 but wife liked the creature comforts of the 460. I have to say that i do like the 3rd row seats folding down better on the 460 vs 470. So here we are... only modifications are a 2 inch lift and 285 tires with method beadlip wheels. Love the 460 a lot so far. We previously owned a 97 80 triple locked and built for fun. The 80 was a turtle compared to the newer vehicles. Also had a 2012 JKU Wrangler built up and currently own a 2021 Wrangler JLU Rubicon.

My 2023 F150 with 8,550 miles is in the shop having the transmission replaced. We are starting the lemon law process this week and hope to be rid of that vehicle this year.

So i asked myself, why do we need the F150 and all of today's vehicle issues... why not look back to the better times and get a GX?!?

Time to read the wealth of information on this forum and see what else i may need to do the GX.

Congrats on your new rig and welcome to the forum.
Do you have plans for it? If so, keep us posted on tales, stories and pics!
Also, being in O.C., do you have a posse you run trails and off road with?
If not, I'm part of 4x4 club here in south O.C. We've been around since the mid-1990's with 50+ members.
We do it all, overland, rock crawling, sand, etc. And we do it responsibly, no "Yah-hoos" or stupid stunts. Personally my wife and I love doing the overlanding, like the Mojave trail, Sedona, camping, since I'm built for overlanding. I can do the crawling, but our GX's are little to expensive to buckle panels.
We do the deserts in Winter and the high country in the Summer.
If you're interested we meet the first Wednesday of the month at Hennessey's in Dana Point: Dana Point — Hennessey's Tavern - https://www.hennesseystavern.com/locations-dana-point
Here's our club website: Capo Valley 4 Wheelers - https://www.cv4w.org/

No major plans for the GX atm. This rig will be my daily...i work from home ;) and will replace my truck.

I am going through the threads to get some information on improving where to put my cell phone, upgrade nav infotainment system and fixing the seat lumbar. I did see a nice integrated front bumper in a thread that i may have to add as i go down the rabbit hole. But my goal is to keep the GX a camping rig for fishing and mountain biking and exploring.

I don't have any current buddies to wheel with. I usually mountain bike and explore solo. I'll check out your club. Always good to connect with others.

OP, congrats on the new rig. It will serve you well.

I’m also in SoCal and interested in linking up for trail runs R2M.

We will be meeting at Hennessy's in Dana Point on Wednesday, 05 June (1st Wednesday of every month). Dana Point — Hennessey's Tavern - https://www.hennesseystavern.com/locations-dana-point
Meeting starts at 0700, but come early, we fill up the room and many come early for dinner. The food's pretty good!
I'd love to see more Lexus/Toyota's in the club! It's mostly Jeeps with a few Toy's.

I already have other commitments on Wed nights, but I’ll try to come out to a trail run.
