SoCal truck since new, I have all service records since new. No crashes or dents, original paint etc (Knight's Armor Pearl with black leather). Mobil1 and factory filters only. In great shape, everything works except the front USB and the cupholder door will stick closed. Otherwise no issues.
It's a pretty modest "build" if you can call it that. I was determined to strike a very civilized balance as a do-it-all on and off road truck, without going extreme in any way.
I put a Bilstein 6112 front kit and 5160 rears on a few thousand miles ago. I set the lift to be pretty modest (~1.6") to keep things reasonable, plus I kept (and really like) the rear air suspension. This suspension is such a big improvement over stock.
It's on stock GX470 wheels (17s) with 10-ply 265/70 Wildpeaks. I also installed the OEM Lexus Canada-market trans cooler, plus stainless braided brake lines.
I took closeup pics of the few cosmetic issues - a small scrape on the front bumper on the driver's corner, a scuffed passenger running board, and a couple scratches on the rear bumper.
I deleted the 3rd row and built a floor panel and a convertible sleeping platform. All of the wood is baltic birch plywood with several coats of urethane. The platform is all 80/20 aluminum extrusions. A z-fold panel deploys for sleeping and folds up to allow full 2nd row use. Storage crates slide under the platform and there's a flip-up panel for access. I can easily fit my air mattress next to my fridge (not shown or included; it slots into the open space in the cargo hold on driver’s side). The platform is removable.
I also upgraded the puddle lamps and rear cargo lamps to 4300K LED which made a huge difference at camp.
It's been on a handful of camping trips in the Sierras but recent life changes mean it’s not getting much use of late. So it's time to move it on. It's been a superb truck. Here are a few pics; there are many more here: 2010 Lexus GX460 · Aug 31 – Sep 7
