Looking to trade my 1980 Land Rover Series III 109 for:
FJ80 or later Land Cruiser
2010 or later 4Runner
Pre-2008 Sequoia
Willing to consider anything, don't hesitate to send any info my way.
It is for sale on eBay, but a trade deal would be preferred: Here is the eBay link.
California registered 1980 Land Rover Series 3 109. This very unique and original Australian 109 that was smogged and registered in California a year ago, however I have been unable to re-smog it, thus it DOES NOT come with a current passed smog test for California residents (this should not be an issue in any other state, however you should check with your local DMV).
This 109 runs smoothly on either petrol or LPG and has a switch to toggle back and forth between fuel tanks.
In the last month I have gone through and replaced all of the fluids, re-built the rear passenger wheel hub, and installed a new gutter kit, as well as an electronic fuel pump. I also gave the ol Aussie a fresh garage paint job. Honestly the paint looks presentable and my neighbors like it a lot more than the nato green. The paint will not win any beauty contests, but from a few feet it looks good and gets a lot of smiles and thumbs up.
The highlights of this 109:
*Virtually rust free. See the photos. It was in Western Australia until at least 2009 from what I can gather and it shows. There is no rot anywhere. The window tops have a little bit of surface rust, but I think that is because the PO stored them outside.
*Only 79,000 Kilometers ( ONLY 43,500 MILES )
* Legit LPG Conversion. Run this beast off off gas or propane. Super easy toggle switch between sources.
* Runs very strong, and shifts smoothly through all gears as well as 4wd. I drive it daily and it has never left me stranded.
*Fairey Overdrive
*Strong running daily driver for me (starts first click every time and I drive it at least 10 miles a day, everyday)
*Roll cage added for safety. Also has seat belts for every seat. 9 people can ride comfortably.
*I don't know of another Aussie 109 in California or the US
