Hey well... i know i could post this up in the classifides add but it's everywhere and this is really between SO and NC, so... what i need is a auto trans, for the cruiser, it's hurting i can feel it.
Also if anyone is looking for a street bike i have one for sale...
point being i need a tranny, and i need to sell the bike before i buy a tranny.
it's a 1990 FZR 600 decent shape, branded title. needs chain $100 bucks. but otherwise bike is great bike. its striped of it's decals and painted black... pics in the newbee post. :D let me know

Really a new one? they are sorta bullet proof. Ive only read 1 if 2 actaully being toast. Most can be fixed. Whats going on with it? We can try and help here, or post up in the big forum (80-tech) with all the details.

well My roomate works for toyota, he said to check the fluid(obveously) but it's good and still sweet smelling. it works fine just when it gets to switch to third gear it acts like it's stuck and it revs hi, then transfers over to third.
and the guys at caveman auto recycling, dont know wtf they are talking about... they told me that they had a 92 when it's a 96?!? but they do have a tranny for the 96 for 300 bucks,
anyway I duno what to do...

Hmmmm..... Think I would still post up in the big forum maybe for some more ideas. I'd just be very suprised if the fix was replacing it. but who knows :)

You have the power button engaged?

Make sure the fluid isn't over full, that can cause symptoms like that. Better for the fluid to be low than too much.

Usually an auto transmission will piss out over fill, but running one low is WAAAYYYYY bad for it. A very quick way to burn up your tranny. (not saying that over is good by any means either but better a smidge over than low)

Depends on how over you are and how hot it gets. If it's over enough to dump it out, you're way over.

Neither one is good, but that's kinda the opposite of what I've heard. Low and you'll start getting metal due to lack of lubrication, and get slipping happening. Overpressure causes all sorts of nastiness and can break things.

You obviously don't want either, but I've heard from multiple sources that over is worse than low. Either way, point is....triple check your fluid. :meh:

well the fluid looks fine
but the power button hm... well i will check that out. it doesn't need any, or much at all. But i duno i finally got my bike back up and running.
