So I decided to import my own.

You need a bigger driveway! Nice collection you've got going there.

i hope it sells quick, i will post it as soon as he says giver.

best not to use the DRL relays but to use a Hella relay that provides a ground (from the Accessory Elec box under the hood) to the headlight relay wiring under the dash. That way you're using the stock wiring set up and not a semi-reliable DRL relay.

You only need DRLs if the truck is a 1990 model year or later.

i just bought a bosch relay for 8 bucks. Plan on wiring it in tomorrow. I will post it up too. I wouldn't pay 40 dollars for one of those pieces of crap.

Hey Simon, I saw your build thread on your HZJ77. Nice truck. I think if i was ever going to part with the 81 i would get a HZJ77.
But the con rod bolts will be arriving tomorrow morning. We already have the ACL bearing from sheldon @ G & S Cruisers and we got the bolts from John @ Rocky Mountain Imports.

Were changing the BEBS and Bolts on both the HDJ81 and HZJ73
should have the pan off on sat for the HDJ81

Your going to have a lot of fun with your 81. I wish I got one sooner, I didn't know what I was missing. That's sweet you got the full meal deal with the factory lockers and winch, well done. Did you find that you saved a bit of money doing the shipping yourself, than going through an importer. Also did you have any troubles finding exactly what you were looking for? I would love to get another one someday with a 5spd, and the other goodies.

Enjoy.

I'd be interested in hearing your driving impressions of the hz73 compared to the BJ70. In the 70 series forum, I guess. More pics:bounce:

i will take some more shots of the trucks tomorrow:) I posted up the hzj73s driving results to the 70. The 70 has 4.11 gears from a 60 in it. the 73 has the 4.11s stock. The hz has alot more torque and power. I was told he might have to remove a resonator to get more power. In the 70 i can drive and be at cruising no problem in 3rd going 50kms with the 73 i had to put it into 4th for 50. i think that resonator is the problem. he needs a new muffler on it anyway:)

I want a Cruiser collection... Who has two thumbs and is jealous? This guy...

the 70 will be for sale in a bit:)

I have taken it out for a little bit of fun. She climbs anything that i have put in front of her with ease. The rear diff lock is gummed up and won't engage and i need to take it appart and clean it up this weekend. Overall i am highly impressed with this truck. I can't wait to test the rear difflock:)

sorry for the lack of variety there, it was windy as s*** on the mountain
Bottom end bearings this weekend:) Clean up the diff lock, and i think i need to change a universal joint.

Very nice truck. :D
JDM Landcruisers are one more reason why I might be looking for a job up North when I finish my degree. Good luck with the sticky diff lock!

Yeah, don't get me started. Student health insurance here specifically excluded what I needed treated for. I had to get married to get treated for what my doc said I was liable to die from, bless my new wife.

It was about time, as we'd been together long enough -- a decade. Took the honeymoon to ride the entire length of the Algoma Central, so you can tell we like seeing some Canadian wilderness:cheers:

When :princess: hear's about the better mileage the diesels get, she'll be most happy. BTW, she's fluent in Japanese. Maybe we'll start our own JDM import biz:flamingo::idea::flamingo:

yeah just move to a smaller town and enjoy the cheap house prices.
wish you luck!
