So the
and I were discussing an (official) JSC snow wheeling trip, and thinking about some different areas out toward the Klamath area.
One area we looked at was Aspen Lake (and lake is a most generous term, despite what you see on Google Maps
). It's basically a seasonal lake, when we looked at it, it was completely and utterly dry as far as we could see.
The advantage to it is that it's huge. I mean very large. Bigger than Lake of the Woods or Howard Prairie. I suppose a picture says a thousand words....
Google Maps
The question is, what are you guys looking for in a wheeling trip? This would be a great spot to snowmobile (or use quads, if you have some paddle wheels), but not so much for an actual "wheeling" trip. Unless we want to do snow drag strip tracks or something.....
I think it'd be cool to have an official snow trip, and something like this might fit the bill.
Thoughts?
