Well,
This butt freezin' cold storm has the temps at mt house on the 650ft contour lie at 39deg F. At the top of Jamison Creek Rd it was snowin ' hard, and colder than GWB's heart. Elevation at the top 2500ft +/-
Flicks to follow:

WOW! That's amazing. I heard it snowed in the Santa Cruz Mountains but that's incredible. I bet hwy. 17 was a nightmare.

I was happy to see your ground speed at 0 for that pic. Some take pics like that while rolling.
How 'bout you come and show me how! Seems I already spun out at 10 mph and ended in the uphill drainage ditch, the downhill drainage ditch was a sheer 50-60 ft dropoff. I was just cruising along at 10 mph and the hill got icy, the 40 ass end dropped to the low side of the road, I soiled myself and hit the loud pedal, as I was 90 degrees to the road direction, the sweet mother of acceleration did not fail me and I launched away from the precipice into the uphill drainage ditch, I turned to follow the ditch with the loud pedal making turbo noises and spraying mud and snow everywhere. I had to go home for an undie check, the warm squishy feeling in my drawers said enough is enough! I am now watching Dust to Glory and listening to Led Zepplin. Gonna wait till more snow accumulates and go back for more festivities, I musta got the dumb gene from my Dad, 2 wars in the infantry, makes us dumber than most. Chips salsa, then a full tank of Biodiesel and here we go!

I use to love driving home during the winter months when I worked in the valley and live in BC. 17 is an idiot fest so you stick to back roads all the way home..

Hey,
Update on the snow mess. I was going over to a buddies house and decided to go Bear Creek Rd, since he live at the bottom of the hill. Snow started at 1400msl and was at blizzard levels by 1900msl. At the intersection of Bear Creek and Hwy 35 there is a 10% grade section, I was going down it at aprox 5mph and sliding and going sideways from engine braking and no brakes. The cars coming uphill were getting stuck in a conga line uphill. the idiots were like lemmings, they just kept coming and coming. When I was descending I would start sliding and correcting until I got to a spot under a tree(no snow), I would then stop and continue when no idiots were making a run at the hill. My wife actually saved the news cast about that section of the road, which was closed after a head on accident!
Whew!

Hey Otterav, nice photos! I was up there thurs.around 9am-10am. wheeling around in my 80 with my dog also.I took Alba rd. off hwy.9 out of Ben Lomend.Just a little ways up rain turned to snow, stoked! So the County(city?) guy in his 2wd. truck comes down the hill& says the road is closed you have to turn around we are going to bring up some heavy equipment& you are going to be in the way! So I turned around&found a nice big lot to wheel around in(let the dog run in the snow) I waited a wile& then saw the guy going back up following a grader(not a very good snow plow). He is getting all sideways gunning up this hill(funny s*** this guy needed 4wd.)he is the one who should have turned around! So I follow them up to Empire Grade& I go around them all.A few cops(4WD sheriff),2WD chipper, they dont say s***& I keep going, real nice views. Some good snow on the road.I saw the BL fire(CDF camp)I kept going all the way to Jamison Creek rd.? Is that the road that goes to HWY 236,I turned on 236&followed down to Boulder Creek,I needed gas real bad! I took my kids up later(up Alba rd.)after school, the snow was still there but higher up.

Awesome pics!!

We used to live in Boulder Creek, off of Fern & Reynolds Drive in '95 during El Nino! We got a slight dusting then, but not like that!! That looks like Hwy 50 up the road from us now!!

hey,
On my second lap through the winterwonderland, I saw that very same "heavy equipment", it had slid off the road and the front end loader was against a fence and the grader was scrunched up against the front end loader. So much for the winter expertize of the county workers! I made several more passes and had some more yuks! Yes Jamison Creek does hit Hwy 236, I live about 2 miles from that intersection.

Cool pics. I used to live in Felton in the Zayante area. We had one snow flurry the whole time I lived there.

Dale's Diner on hwy 9 used to be my favorite.
