Snot?

The hose that connects my valve cover to my carburator has a strange milky, mucous looking subdtance in it. Is it fuel and oil mixed? Is it normal? What the h@wk is it?

Sounds like an emulsion of oil and water. Thats a strange place to keep it.

If she is running fine I wouldn't be too concerned...especially in cold wet ass weather your bound to be making some water...and that would be the location of choice for a weather driven emulsion to collect. Now if you've got the puke in your crankcase....that would be different matter.

What Todd said. That's the same stuff that I occasionally get inside my oil filler cap. If your oil isn't like coffee with milk and your truck is running fine, I wouldn't worry about it. 8)
