I have seen several pigs with snorkels and its got me thinking about them. Where did you guys get your snorkels from or did you have to fabricate something from a different series to fit the 55. Also can anybody post pics of how the snorkel is set up with the carb? I have never seen how the setup works. Thanks

ABS... Stronger than PVC and stiffer. More fittings available too.

No self respecting Pig would be caught wearing a mass produced snorkle. ;)

What is abs? Does anybody have a pic of how their setup attaches to the carb?

Are there any plans on making a home made snorkle?

pvc is great if it's not exposed to sunlight. but sunlight makes it brittle.

what's everyone using for the top piece (screen) besides the ripoff arb piece?

I had a pvc snorkel on my samurai, and it eventually succumbed to the abuse of tree branches. This time, I decided to use 4" exhaust pipe, and I inboarded it as much as possible to minimize thwacking (that's a technical term, BTW :))

Can't help you with carb pics, as I have a different motor. I still have to build my intake scoop. I'm going to build it so it will be spinable, meaning: remove a screw, spin the scoop 180* to keep out the snow and whatnaught. In normal weather, keep it facing forwards to maximize your air delivery.

I also have to build my filterbox, complete with a hinge (to service my K&N) and a seal to keep out the water (just in case). I have an old ammo box that I'm going to use for this. Should work perfect and save me a lot of fabrication...

Some of the heater duct heads work well. That is the heads that stick out of the side of your house to keep birds and mice from crawling into your clothes dryer vent.

I've also used those centrifigul dust separators/pre-filters like used on heavy equipment. There are some that are appropriately sized for light trruck use. I don't remember the brand off the top of my head, but it's a real nice set up. Works well, it's reasonably priced, sturdy and looks good.

But the dryer vent is cheaper and quick/easy to replace.

Thanks Ben, thats what I have been looking to see. I dont even have an air filter on mine right now though. I am going to fabricate some kind of housing for it when I do the snorkel I guess. Thanks again for the help guys.

You'd better close off that heat riser flap before you do any deep water work...

What is the recomended min. ID for a snorkle? I have thought of using 3" stainless exhaust or another idea was to use electrical metal conduit (not rigid).

I have a weber on my 2f using a chrome bling air cleaner. I am thinking of using a stock air cleaner housing. Any thoughts?
