Hi guys
Thought Id post this here and the 40 forum first since more of you guys seem to run snorkels. Im just about done putting a 350 Chev LT1 in my 60. I was just gonna do a pod setup for the intake but decided since my new engine is worth more than my actual truck, and it gets wet and dusty pretty often, I'll go to a snorkel setup. Thing is I dont wanna restrict my intake by using a safari system or similar and would rather mandrel bend myself a nice big four inch custom job. Now the question. Any body know where you get a four inch snorkel top/ram air thingee from? I want it to look good so this is a part that Id like to buy nice and prefabbed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated guys.

Not a ram, but check out the centrifugal pre-filters that safari market's for really dusty conditions. They(the original manufacturer of the assemblies, safari just puts them on their snorkels and puts a huge markup on them) make them for tractor trailers as well and they come in a variety of sizes from my understanding. They look like a clear salad bowl with a black lid on top of the snorkel. Kinda cool looking, kinda weird looking.

They have quite large snorkels on Mercdies Unimogs and there are a numper of various cyclonic pre filters ect but it sound as though you are after a ram effect and as Ari sais maybee look at haulage market,

BMT and I picked up our pre-cleaners from a tractor supply company in Mesa, Arizona. I'm sure any local supply store could find one for you. Ours ran about $35 each and fit the standard Safari Snorkle, but there are other sizes. Just get the O.D. of your tubing and match it to the I.D. of the pre-cleaner.

Thanks for the links dudes, I will head on down to the tractor supply store today (I gotta be honest with you it'll be my first time shopping for tractor accessories :D )

Pick up some shackles and hitch pins while you are there :)

The highlight of my trip to Wisconsin at Christmas will be a trip to their tractor supply store. They have all kinds of fittings, shackles, etc... which are very useful for a Cruiser.

haha, yeah sorry about that but snorkels are something that all cruisers can have, and I know there are a lot of 'series snobs' out there to whom my question wouldn't otherwise reach. URGENT question that is since I wanna get this beast on the road! :D
