I am trying to smog a toyota truck with a 20r in it and it has a small problem.

The numbers read,

15mph 1717rpms CO2%12.74 %O .2 HC 161 CO% 3.65 NO 347
25mph 2780rpms co2% 12.7 %O .2 HC 120 CO% 3.71 N0 283

The CO% is way out of wack, MAx is 1.52 and 1.42.

I am unsure how to reduce CO%. I know how todo HC.

Any suggestions or comments?

o2 sensor? vacuum leak? What is the max on your HC? are you close there?

Hydrocarbons are 242 max, it measured at 161 @15mph and 135 max and measured at 135 max, measured 120 @ 25mph.

No O2, I will check for vaccum leaks tonight.

In cases where too much fuel is presented to the engine cambers high levels of Carbon Monoxides (CO) are emitted through the engine tail pipe. You might check for a leak around the carb or that the carb is adjusted correctly. In cases where low fuel levels are presented, once again the fuel burns improperly and now the engine produces low levels of CO, but begins to emit high levels of Nitrous Oxides (NOx). The engine may also miss-fire due to inadequate fuel, creating excessive Hydrocarbons (HC). Good luck.

Thanks,

I think first things first I am going to give a it a good tune up, I have a friend that works for Toyota and in talking to him he has said to get all toyota parts. They have had numerous problems running after market(bosche) parts.

The prices are simular for the most part.

I am going to look for intake leaks, damaged vaccumlines etc.

I also have a spare cat that is known to be good that I am going to put on as well.

Thanks for the help

Steve
