Guys, what is this? My '77 has this half melted plastic thing on the driver's side inner fender. It looks like it used to have two nipples coming out of it and one of them is attached to the little black box at the right bottom of the pic. The other nipple looks like it's completely melted away, if a vacuum hose goes there, where does the other end go to? Is this melted plastic thing still available?

I believe the 'melted device' is the vacuum surge tank, and the 'black box' is called a VSV (vacuum switching valve). I recall that SOR had them used.

Yup and yup. I'm sure you can find it cheaper than SOR. Try Mark's Off Road, or the classifieds.
