Does anyone have a picture or photoshop skills of what the chrome (rear garnish and Toyota symbol) and the entire front grille would look like in the dark gray (anthracite grey)? I smashed my rear bumper and I'm getting it repaired soon So I figure while it was in the shop I'd take care of the chrome. Thanks

I painted my rear chrome "Land Cruiser" strip grey. I have the grill planned next for a black grey combo. I will post pics as soon as I can. I also painted my chrome side strips black.

did you pop the chrome strip off to do it or just tape off around it? What sort of prep did you do to it? I don't imagine paint would adhere very well without sanding first... I'm going to do same thing and was devising my plan.

Clean with wax/whatever remover and use Bulldog Adhesion Promoter. Works like a charm.

I just taped it off and scrubbed it with isopropyl alcohol before spraying.

Nice work. I think I may paint the rear strip black the rear Toyota symbol dark grey, the entire front grille black with the center Toyota symbol dark Grey. Just not sure if I should go with matte or color match shiny

@TonyP, so clean/degrease, then bulldog adhesion promoter, then prime and paint or just paint right on the bulldog adhesion promoter?

You can paint over Bulldog. What I did while painting the chrome metal trim on the old BMW:

Scuff with a red scotch brite
Clean with wax/decrease
Two to three coats of bulldog
A few coats of paint of your choice that's compatible with Bulldog (I used Eastwood 2k Satin Rod Black)
