Slow filling washing machine

Do washing machines have any kine of internal filter that might clog with time and cause the machine to fill slowly? Have a Maytag that has this problem. It's run like a sewing machine for nearly 25 years now so I'm not complaining, just looking to get another 25.

Is it both hot and cold or just one?Try to find out which one has the worst flow.

There should be a screen where you connect the water hose to the back of the machine.

Check the screen for debris/calcium build up.
