Hey Woody,

Thanks for all you do in keeping this site up and running. I'm sure you are pulling out what's left of your hair with this upgrade.

But, I guess I'm adding to your list... All of the pages are now very slow to load. I get the background picture for the top third of the screen, then a long wait until the rest of the page loads. Happens every time I move from one page to another, and when I hit the back button as well.

Edit: I am running Chrome on a Win7 machine. Same issues regardless of whether I am viewing through my work net or my home net.

We haven't optimized the server or software yet...need a few baseline days with full traffic load prior to doing that. Likely Monday for a first adjustment...kinda like visiting the chiropractor where it takes a few visits to get things right

Also, ad networks/servers occasionally have issues...and I haven't yet got the usergroup filters complete. Ideally, "guest" users see 100% of ads, Registered see less, 10+ see less, and 250+ even less. I figured out the process for that yesterday (last night actually), but haven't had time yet to get a plan in place implement.

Good to hear. Everything was really snappy for me yesterday but super slow this morning. I assumed it was my crummy internet service.

It is much slower than the old site. For me, it seems to be hanging on the initial background picture load in the upper left corner. Can that just be turned off? I turned off all the ads I could and it still is very leisurely. Pirate4x4 and Expedition Portal which are similar, are MUCH faster. Hopefully the tweaks can speed things up.

@Cruiserdrew - yeah, the skin designer thought it was a good idea...I wasn't convinced, but knew it would be easy to disable if it became an issue.

"might" re-enable when I get around to setting up the CDN...but that's a bit of time away
