Hey guys, first post here -- not sure if I'm putting this in the right section.

I've been looking into buying a slightly used GX 460 Premium with low miles (below 15 K). However, after looking at the deals on new ones, it seems that I can get a 2019 premium for 48 K sales price (excluding taxes/destination, this includes Lexus 3 K cash back promotion). Is this a good enough price that I should just go new? I haven't seen anything that's slightly used for a comparable price.

If you can get one for less than $50k out the door, I personally would jump on it! Although I purchased a 2013 with only 38k miles. But I specifically wanted the pre-2014 front grill so I could add a steel bumper and winch.

Yeah I wish haha. That's just the sales price. Total out the door for this one will be about 52 K due to high CA tax and registration. Alternatively, they have a 2018 avail with 13 K miles on it (demo model) for 48 K out the door. I'm sorta leaning towards the new one for 4 K difference, 1 year newer and 13 K less miles, also lower interest rate if I decide to finance (might finance it as I'm putting the vehicle on my business and there are some advantages to financing).

We just paid 27k for a 15 premium with 78k miles and felt like it was a hell of a deal. The other truck we were considering was a 17 premium with 40k miles for 37k. Didn’t see the value in jumping to that one. 48k brand new seems pretty reasonable.

I was in the exact same position and bought a new 2019 for a similar price a couple of months ago. I also secured 1.5% financing from my credit union, so it made sense to me since I just put that financing check check into a 3% CD.

It may come down to color, interior and options preference. The new one I imagine you can get it they way you want where as the demo is what it is.

I'm with you on the grill -- i hate the newer one. For that reason, I'll probably go back to searching for something used and low miles. How much did you get yours for? Just wondering what a ballpark good deal would be for a 2013 and lowish miles.

My rig is a 2013 GX460 Premium
  • Purchase date: May 2018
  • Purchase price: $32,000
  • Purchase mileage: 38,000
Purchased from a dealer. They just got the vehicle in and had not cleaned it yet. Aside from the miscellaneous left over toys, candy wrappers, crumbs, etc. that a Mom's car would have, there were a couple very minor scratches (no dings) and the rear wing had a crack. The dealer did EVERYTHING!! It was like NEW when I picked it up. They touched up every little scratch and completely replaced the rear wing. All the gunk from the kids was gone. It was like a new vehicle when I received it!

Aussie-style bullbars look pretty good on the 2014+, but I may be slightly biased.

I purchased a used 2013 base with 90k for a bit under $25k almost one year ago. Got the color both inside and outside that was preferred after shopping for several months. Truck drives flawlessly with only minor exterior blemishes (chips, scratches, etc). Definitely worth shopping and waiting to get the better looking front end IMHO

I hear the same complaints in the 200 forums about the 2016+ LX front end, but like the 2014+ GX front end, there's very little difference when it's hacked up for a bumper install. Love this, do you have a build thread?

Thanks! No build thread...maybe I'll throw something together at some point to cover everything I've done.

Well guys, pulling the trigger on a new 2019 premium for 47.8 K sales price (57 K MSRP). Pick it up in 2 weeks, will post a pic when I get it. Went back and forth on used vs new and ultimately decided the price on new one was a pretty solid deal particularly since I can take advantage of the 6 K pound vehicle business depreciation deduction on it. Was slightly bummed I couldn't get the 3 K rebate AND the lexus 1% financing, they make you pick one or the other so went with the rebate.

Good deal, that's a bit less than what I paid back in February, but they only had $1k Lexus cash then. Makes it kind of hard to go used when new deals like this are out there. Have you checked local credit unions for good financing? I was able to find 1.49%...not 0.9%, but still let me dump the check into a 3% CD and make a few bucks.

Wow who did you use? best i could find is 2.5%.

haha yeah thats who i used, they must have raised rates.

If you go through the car buying service, and opt for a 36 month loan, it is still 1.49%. The trick to the car buying service is to click the link through to the exact car you'll be buying. It was a little bit of a PITA since I had already found the car first, but Penfed eventually got it all sorted out and I got my 1.49%.

Thanks for the heads up! Will get this sorted out. Edit: All sorted, awesome! Will be taking delivery on the 29th.
