Hey Guys,

I have a small noise that is coming from my Auto 4 Speed gearbox between 100Km/ph - 120km/ph . The noise is very faint and can only be heard when you turn everything in the car off i.e no radio, AC etc .

The noise sounds like a very faint whine , or whistle howl,

The ATF fluid has been changed and is at the correct levels - I was hoping if someone can tell me if this is normal for these cars, and if not what I should be doing or looking at ?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Experiencing same whistle noise on my '98. Can't figure out where it's coming from, not certain if it's transmission. I'm guessing some sort of vacuum or something...

my hi pitch whistle sound that i thought was my front wheel bearings. Turned out to be my front differential. Check the oil or have it changed just to make sure. I made it to 414167 miles before having to replace my front differential. If i had changed that oil it would still be going strong i am sure. 1999 LC
