As stated how much clearance do you have for your slider support bar? Because of body flex, did you cut/notch out the pinch weld for more clearance? Did you drop the bar down far enough from pinch weld?

I have 1/4 inch on mine and wish I had ~1/2 inch. Cutting out the pinch weld is also an option but I don't know of anyone doing this. I do know on some cars the pinch weld is the jacking point so they are probably pretty tough...that being said I know people have destroyed their's or pounded them over....if doing this mind the sunroof drain slots. There is also talk of vibration but that may be a result of resonation. See other thread by concretejungle.

I read that post which brought me to this question. I have about 5" but cut slits in the pinch weld and with a block of wood and hammer bent the 1.5"-2" wide slot back and up. iwanted toget these up high as possible but still have room for flex.

I would suggest approximately 1/2 inch between the pinch weld and the slider outriggers. THis should give enough room to allow for deflection. Also, those pinch welds are pretty damn strong. They surprised me. My slide rails are really close to the pinch weld in the very front (under the front doors), so i figured i would hammer them over. NOT, then i went to grind them, even that was tougher than i expected.

Basically i have a combination of them notched just slightly and down as far as they would go. I didn't want to notch them too much because i felt the notch was a weak point and could buckle if too much stress was applied to the sliders.

Hope this helps,
Alex

I have "Hanna Quality" slides - one of the original models, which has plenty of space btw the pinch weld and the support arms.

No rubbing / vibrations / resonance issues...................
