Looking for some advice on sliders. My original plan was to make a custom set for the 69' but as this project drags on and on I am leaning towards just ordering a set! One thing that will be important is to have some sort of tab on them that I can bolt the bottom of the front fenders to for additional support. Has anyone else been down this road? Can anyone speak to the quality of Metal Tech?

I was faced with this decision just this summer. I looked at Metal tech and liked what I had heard and have seen. The price was about 360 for the two. Since i still had to have them welded on and I don't/can't weld I looked for other options. Dr. Smash built me a pair that were better than metal tech as they provide protection to the slide area and also the sides. They are more out of the way. The complete installed painted price was about 200.00 more than just the uninstalled metal tech. To pay to have them(metaltechs) welded on would have been close to that. If you can weld with confidance that your welds are bash proof go metal tech. If not and you have the cash to pay Dr. Smash in Carson--HAVE HIM DO IT.:)

Nice Thanks!! I am a decent welder and have access so I can probably handle that!

Shane,
I am a big fan of metal tech!! Full cage and tube fenders are on my rig...Mark is a GREAT guy as well w/ great customer service.
For my sliders, though, I "borrowed" from the MT design and made my own!! They are pretty expensive for what they are. Hate to say that, but...
Sliders, IMO, are one of the most important mods of a rig for wheeling. Good for you for thinking ahead on these.
Not quite sure what you're after, though as far as tying the fenders into the sliders???

I think i know what your lookin for you will have to make a Tab of your own design to tie the fenders to your sliders. but if you hit your fenders hard enough they will bend and tear. unless you have tubed your fenders then you should be in good shape even with a hard hit hope that helps ya out

I pulled the trigger last night on the MT sliders I like the style and while there will be some minor fit issues based on my exhaust they seem like the simplest, and quickest way to go! I hate to say it but I am running out of patience with this build and just want things done, Im not yet to the point that I want to take short cuts but if I have to spend an extra couple bucks to get things done quickly I have to do it at this point! The fender tab i spoke of is to ad a little support to the bottoms of the front fenders. In my mind I see them attached with a bolt run through a rubber grommet so they will have a little give but also support. We will see how that all works?? Lol things always seem to work better in my mind?

Shouldn't be hard to do that.
I know what you're feeling on wanting to get DONE!
You'll be happy w/ the MT sliders and its not copping out or cutting a corner by any means BUYING a set from them.

Lemme know if you need a hand.
