Anyone running the Slee 6" springs, now that they've been available for a while?

If so what other mods have you found necessary? Control arms, panhards, steering, cutting/rolling etc...?

How is everything holding up?

I have the OME J springs/shocks, adjustable panhards, sway drops, brakes lines, etc... now with 315/75/16's and thinking about moving up.

Figure I might put 36-37's on my Cruisers. Trying to decide.

Like no way dude, really? You're considering that? How about you click search or read some of the other threads around here, look in Cruisergarage etc.

Hey I'm running 37 inch krawlers on mine and they rubbed on the fender flares but that wasnt a biggie to me just got rid of them (never was a fan of plastic). The springs seem to work fine I have the heavy ones and with after market bumpers front and rear the ride is still smooth and controled but that is with the whole kit not just the springs. I dont think I would advise it with out changing out the control arms and the rest of the linkage in order to make sure you have the proper caster angle. And as far as the rest the kit goes the only problem i had there was i broke the front control arms but I simply welded in some braces and it hasnt happened since.

MTBMAN18, where you at? We got us another NC wheeler!!! Sweet!

From CO to NC WTF? Feel for you dude. I'm trying to go in the opposite direction. :D

Oh yaa.............................. :flipoff2:

MTBMAN, where did the control arms break? I'm a little concerned now since I have them and would like to not have them break on me.

Ditto.

I'm in Jacksonville yea you guessed it a Marine. But anyways I had the control arm break just on the outer edge of the first bushing casing on the axle. So we made v shaped braces to fit on either side of the tubes and go just to the top of the bushing cases and havent had it break since. But I'm the only person I've ever heard of breaking one there so it may have been a freak thing. I assume it was axle wrap that weakened and then eventually broke them.

sounds like

it sounds like the control arms are a weak point.

thanks, good to know what needs to be build up a little prior to installation when I get to it.

next question

anyone running anything lower than 488's on the road?

I'm running 4.88's with 315's and now that I'm considering 37's I wish I had gone with 5.29's. The way I look at it gears are cheaper than a SC or Turbo. I'm not sure how much of a trade-off in strength lower gears would be. Something to consider.

I understand the 5.29s to be weaker than the 4.88s.
We're all driving slugs...slow down...enjoy scenery. :D

To bad I still don't live in Wilmington NC!!! We could all get together. I will be back soon in a year or so. I just can't get use to this rain thing here in the Norhtwest!!!

The MTN wheeling is way way better than NC but the beach here SUCKS

Luke, you should not have to do anything. I have broken the first prototype set on the shortbus and Robbie has broken one. Both these cases were severe abuse and in both cases it was due to a manufacturing problem from the engineering shop that makes them for us. We have also added a gusset in the spot where the breaks occured.

We strive to make them as strong as we can, but nothing is unbreakable and it is imposible to determine how people will use them. That is why we try to run all the products on our own trucks and abuse the hell out of them to see the weaknesses.

I wish MTBMAN18 contacted us so when it broke so that we could have looked into it. MTBMAN18, what is your real name?
