I'm looking to buy a set of skid plates for my truck. The only brand I found in Europe that makes a full set (including the fuel tank skid plate) uses design without any holes in the skid plates.
I am wondering if this would affect cooling? Most brands I saw (ARB and Slee as examples) have holes in the gearbox skid plate to let air pass through.

Has anyone had success running solid skid plates in warm climate? The manufacture basically says that there is no cooling requirement and hence no holes, but I am concerned they may cause transfer case to overheat.

Holes are designed to let mud, rock, ice, snow and dirt fall out. No cooling requirements needed. Just proper spacing away from contacting anything, is needed.
