Site is loading super slow!

Running slow for me. It's been terrible at work for several weeks. It loads slow, then I log in and it runs slightly faster.

Now at home, it's taking 15 seconds or so between pages. Something is definitely not right.

Came into this section to report the same issue. Long page load times ( 3+ minutes ) while my browser ( latest Chrome build ) waits for "ad.afy11.net".

It got a bit better but still a significant delay between pages with nothing happening. One of the ad sites must be slow and that's hanging the whole site. It was much better before. Not sure what changed, but not as good an experience as previously when it was instant.

I'll chime in and report the same type of slowness everyone else is talking about. It doesn't seem to be any one ad source. The IH8MUD banner loads quickly, then you wait, wait, wait. It's been especially bad the last two or three days. No difference at home (AT&T Uverse) or work (w/ 10 Gb bandwidth to internet), Firefox or Chrome.

Edit: just to add some concrete numbers, a thread in the 80's section with one short post and no images is taking 19.8s to load. I tried it several times and maybe got +/- 2s variation from that number.

hmmm...I have noticed occasional lag's with Google over the last day-two...wondering if they've got something causing issues...but nothing major, at least on my end (and I see more ads than guests)

I just get a black screen for the most part after hitting reply, and have to close down my browser and re-open. Seems to have posted things after that though.

Hi Woody,

The site is slow. I get 2 messages (bottom left). The first one is: waiting for......
and the next one is: waiting for apr.lijit.com. The waiting time can build up to 30 seconds. I use Chrome or Firefox or Explorer. Doesn't matter, it's slow.

Have had horribly slow load times for the last several days. ad.afy11.net....seems to be the culprit, but who knows! I'm either timing out or loading about one page every 30 to 50 seconds...and this on a very fast connection normally. FWIW, it is only doing this slow load on the current PC, others from same location (work) are lickity-split fast...but not in my office!

Ideas?

Yes, I am using what I can to limit the ads. Funny thing is that when I use my home computer or someone elses at work, it is blazing fast...just my laptop is a snail.....that is not good!
BTW, using Firefox, is latest sw and updated...

Looking forward to the new site and it seems to be really fast even on my slow laptop...there is hope!!
