I bought and installed a new Sirius radio last night in my 97 LC. Screwed the swivel base into the space on the hard console next to the transfer case shifter and just below the ashtray. FM antenea and satelite antenea wires easy to conceal as they go into the carpet on the passenger side and then I ran the Sat. antenea up the passenger side pillar and in the headliner molding above the doors finally exiting the rear lift gate and the magnetic antenea is on the roof, totally invisble unless your David Robinson or SHAQ. My questions is about hardwiring the DC input instead of using the cig. lighter. Can I splice into the wire behind the lighter and then still have the lighted to charge my cellphone - not a lot of amps obviously. I think I could also buy and install a 2 or 4 way splitter, but then I'm sure I would be tempted to overload the fuse. Anyone else hardwire one of these units.?
Thanks

ps - I had to get it NOW because I am driving 12 hours tomorrow to fish, and then turing around and driving back on Saturday.

I had my amp remote switch wired into that same wire. I never had any trouble, and I doubt you will.

I just use a pigtail to it from my lighter -- never thought twice about it -- had it since December --
