I have a situation where I need to prevent a family member from "borrowing" my mothers truck while she's in the hospital.

Other than pulling the battery out, is there a fuse I could pull to prevent starting?

In the title!

If said person isn't automotive inclined, just pull a fuse out of the inside fuse block. Like ignition. Of they arent ignorant, pull a ign fuse from under the hood. If there really tricky, put a fuse in the little black wire going to the starter whose name evades me and pull it.

Thanks, I'm an idiot.

Thought about hiding the keys?

Said family member has keys, which were actually surrendered today.
Unfortunately keys are easy to make, I'll still be looking for some ignition fuses.

Thanks for the tips.

Sad when you know family well enough that you can't trust them.

Funny thing now. I went to move the truck before disabling it and the battery is so dead it won't even click. Seems the truck took care of the problem on it's own.

New question: I tried to get it into neutral to roll it (auto trans) and it wouldn't budge out of park.
Is there some sort of electric interlock preventing this?

Next trip over I'm bringing tools and a charger.

Yes. There is a over ride for the lock down near the shifter usually (A little plastic piece you pry out and use a screw driver to defeat the lock out) . Don't know about the Tacos though.
