I noticed this little gem on bc4x4 the other day:

BC4x4.COM four wheel drive, 4x4, offroad and fourwheeling site.

I feel it's a good time for a healthy cross posting as we had to do a little of this last night (on a Jeep!) last night down at Peg.

But our efforts were in vain, as it would not start. No spark!

I then was giddy with excitement as I unraveled my tug straps to drag the 4 lettered thing out of there. Oddly enough, a bone stock Grand Cherokee has absolutely nothing for front tow points. So the owner wrapped a strap around the front axle (I was really excited now, envisioning it coming apart much like in that recently posted jeep stuck video), attached the other end to my pintle, and we were ready to rock.
But then unfortunetly, someone had the bright idea to try starting it again, and the damn thing fired up. My fun was ruined.

Side note about tug straps;

When having imbibed too much (from a previous outing), try to remember to splice your straps together with a chunk of wood or something, it makes for ugly times trying to get them apart. It was a good thing I spent the better part of two hours on Saturday doing this (undoing the knots that is).

A shackle works well... instead of wood. ;)
