As stated .. the signal fuse on my 80 has blown twice in the last 3 days . But my hazards work fine ..

As a side note , on my vent controls .. for a month or so the last 3 on the upper row have been without back lighting . The other nite in the States when I noticed I had no signals suddenly .. I got my back lighting back shortly thereafter .

Hmmm , either the border is bad mojo , or maybe I have poor connections behind my dash somewhere .. Lord knows I've had it all apart enough times to get at the stereo etc .

Any other thoughts guys ?

TIA ,

TY

Almost sounds like 2 different problems. I would start at the signals, those plastic connectors usally get green or corroded pretty easily. At the dash, man that could take awhile searching for one little wire nick or pinch. good luck. repeat #6 as needed.

Are you running stock bulbs or some other pimp trick?

Well stock kinda .. I get them from my Canadian Tire store here . Remember I have to run the same bulbs , BUT have to use coloured ones .. so the difference is just superficial .

I wonder if I left my hazzards on for a while if that fuse would go as well . If I have an intermittant short .. vibration dependant , then it would likely do so .

I suspect my custom signals under my mirrors . Tomorrow in the daylight I'll try and check them both out for water gathering in the lenses or damage to the wiring that I ran from the front signals , back thru the door to my customs . I can think of a few places where the wiring might wear with repeated door openings .

I don't want to ignore other possibilities , but I have my prime suspects .

Bingo...disconnect whatever you've changed...then test again. I emptied a box of 15 amp fuses before finding my wiring screw up on my 40 series license plate holder.

I will look closely at it all .. my blinkers the closest . Keep in mind though , they have functioned flawlessly for 37 months since I installed them ...

TY - *shrugging*

Took a look this morning ... threw on the hazards , and sure enough my driver side custom blinker under the mirror was not working . It turns out some water got in over the winter , which I simply drained . I think when I brush snow off the mirrors , some falls down and eventually seeps into the area where I have placed the signals . Replaced the fuse again , and it's been good .

bling induced current overload. blown fuse better than car fire.
