Read 100's of threads on the forum, I understand all of the procedures. Hoping someone who has done this can confirm or give any pointers.
1998 LC
New fob and trasnmitter from ebay. Wireless lock/unlock procedure worked like a charm. New key locks unlocks car as it should.
Confirmed that existing key is a master key.
Followed the immobilizer procedure at least 20 times trying all different timing on the pedal presses. I can clearly see when I get it "right" in that when I pull out the original key the immobilizer light stays off. Then I put in the new key, press and release the gas pedal once and the light stays off for another 2-3 seconds and then goes back to it's normal blinking procedure, never to turn off again.
I tried the erase procedure with the same net result. The final confirmation portion of the procedure with the light does not happen.
Is there anything I need to know? I'm doing full presses on each pedal, spaced out and have even timed myself with my phone. I've sat there for 5 minutes after the last step with the new key in the ignition waiting for the immobilizer light to turn off.
Any help?
