Anyone had a chance to try out these trails east of SD? They are short but have some fun obstacles. I would have taken more pics but I got tired of getting in and out of the car. Next time I'll just make my wife walk the trail snapping photos along the way.

Sweet pics. Sweet rig too!

Wow, that look's cool!! When did you guys get here?? I need some more FJ60 people in SD!!!

That's in the Lake Morena area off the I-8......always wanted to go there 'cause it's so convenient. Would make a great family day trip.........

We went to Superstition this weekend........it was the first trip for the boy(he's 5 months now) everything was a great success!

Got to try out the AussieLocker and my Mud TAs too.........the sand was very good to me..........

We should organize some sort of San Diego Cruiser group for a day trip soon, plenty of stuff in our area.....................

That's a good idea. I'd love to do something as I haven't really wheel'd my 60 yet. I'm getting a little busy though as I'm getting ready for a trip to Iraq in a few months...

I f you don't have it already you guys NEED this book:

http://www.funtreks.com/book_5.htm

Available at ORW 858-565-7792 or 619-442-8689

Online at www.funtreks.com and

www.amazon.com

It has all off-road areas and trails for us in San Diego and Imperial Countys

It has maps, EXCELLENT descriptions, some pics, mile marks and GPS coordinates

it's the shizzzzz.......................

ChuckB, if you are getting ready to deploy then you definitely need to make a couple trips. I am game for going out ANY weekend (except this weekend b/c of Surf N Turf). The great thing about these trails is that they are only 50 miles east of my house (East Lake). I just take Otay Lakes out past the reservoir and then take old 94 to Campo. Take a left on Buckman Springs Rd. and you are there. If any of you SD guys want to meet up and hit some local trails, just PM me and we'll set something up. I am tired of wheelin' alone anyway.

Anyone ever do any wheelin out at glamis? I think nows the time that it gets pretty wild out there.

I got to do some trails out near Julian. If you ever get a chance look up some of the ORV trails on a map and check them out.

Oh and what kind of suspension set up do you have on your 62?

I haven't been out to Glamis yet but I was going to try and get out there sometime before December. This is the time to go because the temps are finally coming down. I've always wanted to drvie the sand highway and play on the dunes.

My SO uses Man-A-Fre stock replacement springs, Man-A-Fre extended shackles (super beefy), crappy Heckethorn shocks, and I'm still running front and rear swaybars. Tires are 35x12.50. I'm still trying to decide what shocks to put on to replace the Heckethorns. Any suggestions??

Yeah lotsa stoopids out there fer sure..............

and at Glamis they charge a fee to go off-roading and I hear it's pretty steep

That's why we go to Superstition Mountain, just west of El Centro about 2 hrs from SD. Plenty of hard pack for camping or just set up a bivouac and there's lotsa sand on the mountain for Duning................

Jefferson, next time you head out to Superstition, let me know. Never been there but I would love to try it out.
