Can anyone tell me how I can remove the side mirror glass from my HJ60? They're the mirrors like on the FJ62's, the big rectangular chrome side mirrors.
I'd like to remove the glass and replace them
without breaking them or damaging the housing.
Anyone know how to do this or know of a link to an article showing how this can be done?

Only have 18 yrs experience doing this: you have to break the mirror to install the new piece. Replacements are made by Burco & available at auto glass shops. We used to do the whole thing for $35.

Be aware that car mirrors have certain anti-glare properties not shared by household mirror. Having said that, any glass shop can cut 1/8" clear mirror to shape & install it in your housings. I did that with my "Aussie" mirrors because I hate convex mirrors (can't see to back up a trailer) & Burco doesn't make a replacement.

That's the exact opposite of what I want to do. The HJ60 has flat mirror glass in which you can't see anything with. I want to replace it with convex glass to give a wider viewing angle, like on modern cars.....
