I also posted this in the trailer section.

I have a chance to get this trailer for very short money, basically for the cost of the green tarp. I realize it is too large to pull behind my 40. I have a Nissan Armada that is rated to pull upwards of 10,000 lbs. It has a new tarp, inside it has fold down benches and wood sides as well as three folding cots.
What do you guys think?

And what do you plan to do with it?
We used to tow them behind our duece-and-a-half
when I was in the service. Unless you plan on loading a couple of tons on
it everytime you use it i'd think it would be pretty useless.
What's the Tongue height on it? anywhere close to your trailer hitch?
They are HEAVY!

Heavy heavy heavy........

I think Ernie bought one of those and said it was too big and heavy for everyday pulling.

Well, my father is building a house way up in Maine on a lake. There are two ways in, one is by boat and the other is down some pretty gnarly logging roads. Next spring, we will need to bring in some furniture and appliances and Sears doesn't exactly deliver there so my thinking is to buy this trailer, make a few runs with it and then resell it.

Are there any tags on it? Yeah, it's heavy, but it's no 105, not sure what it is...............looks like a wide wheelbase M101 3/4 ton. Anyhow, if it is, it would be fine behind the Armada for what you suggest. If you can figure out what it is it may command some higher dollars to a MV collector, because its' no plain old trailer. Notice that the front drops also? The stretchers and troop seats would probably pay the purchase price. :hhmm:

Go for it then!
It's not something you would want for the dump run on Saturday!

Still attempting to ID this thing. 5 lug and 16" tires makes it 3/4 ton, but it's not an M101. Almost looks like a dedicated troop carrier especially with the step. Canadian? The width would make it as wide as a M35...............wierd.

I just looked all over the internet and I can't find another one like it. I looked for pictures of ones with the angled fender and found nothing...$200 sounds pretty good.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the only marking on is "M103" stenciled on the tailgate.

Man, I just burned too many hours looking for that thing. $200? It's worth that as scrap.

Those are definately M37 Dodge wheels. It's definately not a US M103.....that's a big trailer for gensets behind the deuce and a half like Lane said.

My guess is a Canadian 3/4 ton for behind their M37.

Turning it into a camper would be cool once you're done with it

Buy it... you'll use it more than you think. Armada is fine, I have a pintle to two inch hitch adapater to tow mine. Agree it is definitely not an M103 and I cannot ID it either. Post it on Steel Soldiers forum. Someone should know there. The original electrical plug is still in the hitch picture. You may have to rewire for 12v lights. Tailgate and hinges are stout! Again, buy it.

That thing is shaweeet

I got it home last night! $200 for the trailer and it cost almost as much for the pintle hook for my truck.

It is actually a 4 family house that my family owns. I am keeping the trailer there because I have zero room in my own driveway.
