Between Covid and other 'issues' I didn't get a chance to take my younger son back to oz for a visit into the bush until a couple of weeks ago. Very short trip and only a few nights out camping. We did manage to enjoy some of the open spaces and tracks a few hundred miles north EAST of Perth.

Some pics of our little bush trip. Was excellent weather since it's just heading into winter there. Lots of rain a few days after we left :)

First night camped, fire going and younger son sleeping after dinner :)

Stopped in a random spot.

Clearer track and exploring some areas I hadn't been to before.

Hmm - first time driving right hand drive manual transmission diesel. A new experience :)

We have pretty good ginger beer in oz and the fridge keeps it 'just right'. Exploring some claypans and rocks with neat erosion patterns.

Few more pics in the next post.

cheers,
george.

Lots of outcrops in this area and good views of how flat everything is when you climb them.

Decent sized fire on the last night. Plenty of good wood to burn and camped next to a rock outcrop makes it safe enough.

Last day as we followed an old track to get back to the hwy to return to Perth.

After the 'taste', he wants to return and allocate much more time out there to explore the desert areas.

cheers,
george.
