Shifter Lever Rattles unless pulled upward
On my 2000 LX, the center console's shifter(PRNDL) lever makes a terrible rattle sound in daily routine driving.
So much so, that I avoid driving the vehicle.
The rattle will go away if I pull the lever in an upward direction.
But this is not any way to drive. I tightened the screws(they weren't loose), but the rattle seems to be emanating from below the console. Where the lower chrome stem connects to linkage?
Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?
I've had the truck for about 6 months and have driven it only a handful of times, prefering to drive my old 80 instead.
