Hey guys, I need the shift linkage off a column shift pick up with a 700 R4. Thought I would see if someone here could help before scrapping around the salvage yards. It sounds like that will be the easiest route to adapt to my application. ( Any other suggestions are welcome).

Pick n pull is where I'd go.

Either that... Reno auto wreckers. They'd pull if for you.
What do you have going?

I need all the linkage from the column down to the tranny. I have an aftermarket tilt column and a factory rebuilt 700 R4 but neither came with linkage and i filled all the holes in the floor so reaching down to shift is no longer an option! haha. I know the GM factory linkage will need modification but I have to assume its a good place to start. What tranny are you running? Im hoping that my project will resemble your "matti" when all is said and done!

I've got the 4l60e trans and used a lokar shifter. Spendy, but a very nice, solid shifter. D
Sure you wanna do a column shift?
You could still cut a hole in the floor pan, carefully.

Well I'm not sure but is what I have for now ! I don't want to waste the fancy chrome steering column and it will be great for running around town.

OOOOOOOH....
Okay, sorry!! I didn't realize that you BOUGHT one of the schnazzy borgensen/ flaming river steer columns.

That is very helpful thank you!

On my way back to summit tomorrow! I need to spend those summit bucks anyway! I now get SOR rewards also! The joys of having a 40. I may be picking up another as well I got some pics of one up north that looks pretty good and straight and complete driver for half what I paid. If one is fun two must be better right??!

A majority of my build was tracking down and researching parts to make things work.
Back and forth, here and there...
Seemed ENDLESS!!

Zamboni's muffler shop on 6th street did mine.
I looked at a couple different shops. He was most reasonable, did custom work, took his time and did a nice job. My routing was TOUGH to do and he made it work w/ HUGE space constraints.
He's a crusty old dude that's been in Reno for a LOOOOOOOOONG time.

Sweet I like him already I will get the rest of my stuff done and get it back down here so he can make it sound good!
