Howdy HD Cruisers, This is kind of a strange request, but I am participating in a fund raising event to help fund research for childhood cancer research. The organization is called St. Baldricks and it sponsors an annual event where firefighters gather and shave their heads in solidarity for the kids:meh:. Of course we get pledges on our heads to help the cause. If you'd be interested in donating a few bucks (no minimum), please consider going to St. Baldrick's Foundation - Welcome and go to 'you can help' then click on sponsor a participant. On the left side of the page - do a search for a team. I am helping develop a team from my fire department - Rio Rancho Fire Department. Search for our team and look at the 4-year old kid we are honoring in the event. We are going to give him a ride in a fire truck to the event. This event always attracts a crowd and great media coverage. So if you've got a few extra $$ and don't have enough for the next mod on your rig - consider donating to the kids. I know Shawn won't be participating - he's already sans-hair! There are FFs from all over the state participating in the March 16th event. Thanks
Paul

here's the linky for his dept: http://www.stbaldricks.org/participants/team_info.html?TeamKey=2008|2477.

Shawn's dept is participating as well, just not him. Lots of folks got behind it the first year we did it: great event!

actually, i am told i am participating! my band Code 29 will be playing for the event and we are signed up to have our heads shaved...but since i already do that, we will shave the drummer and PUT his hair on me.:D

so come to the event and see Code 29!

i just found out the time. event from noon to 3pm, we play from 2-3. it's at O'Neil's Pub on Central.

Great Shawn - I have been wanting to hear your band - I wonder if being bald will mess with the acoustics...

nah, if your ears are big they get good acoustics anyway.:flipoff2:

i also found out that we are playing outside on a semi truck trailer that folds out into a stage. if we can get away with playing longer than an hour, we will. we have too many great rockin' songs to fit into 1 hour.

Schedule

OK, here's the link for the event-St. Baldrick's Foundation - Events - Event Information

according to the schedule, Code 29 Band plays from 12:30-1:30 while group one is getting shaved. i don't know what group Paul is in, but get there around noon and you won't miss anything! there will be a bagpipe band and irish dancers as well. Code 29 will even play a song with a bagpiper (an AC/DC song with me singing:eek:)! it should be fun for the whole family! We hope to see you all there!:D
