Hi all. I am new to this site but a long time LX470 owner. I had an interesting problem with shaking recently that I hope someone can help me with. At any speed, but usually crusing at 30-50 mph, my 2001 LX470 (stock, no modifications) would start to shake. I felt it in the seat and floor, not in the transmission, engine or steering wheel. Once it started, it would only stop when I stopped. Once I started again it was gone (until the next time it happened). The shaking would get faster or slower depending on the wheel speed. This happened about 6 times over a three week period.
Had the wheels balanced, did not solve the problem. I took it to the dealer and they said it could be the load leveling system may not be working properly. After checking it, they said it was fine, but could not reproduce the shaking. Now that I have it back from them, the shaking seems to be gone but I haven't driven it much. I also notice that the truck sits higer in the rear than when I took it to them.
Could the shaking have been due to inproper angle of the rear drive shaft? What else could this be? Anyone ever experience it?
