Ok, I throw the 80 in R and it shakes even more violently at idle. AND tehre is this almost banging noise coming from the driver's side. I'm assuming it's a hose clamp or something that came lose and is making the muffler bounce around too much. But where is the shaking coming from? ???
Can't speak for the banging noise, but if you have an idle shake while at a full stop, then obviously one of the cylinder's isn't firing properly. I'd have someone you trust (no wives with $1 million life insurance policies on you) sit in it in R with their foot on the brake. Then, you remove and replace the dist wires one at a time until you find one that hardly changes the shake. This would be your problem cylinder. As for the banging, again have the Trusted One at the wheel and you lay under there and you'll likely find it quickly.
Have the parking brake on, and wheels chocked in both directions unless you have a death wish.
The "uphill" shake is likely to be a worn driveshaft joint. Get under there and see if there is excess play. Certainly since you're "waiting to install a lift" these should be in top shape anyhow.
