This probably isn't the right place, but there didn't seem to be specific forum for this region. Mods - move if need be.

I'm looking into a 100 in Portland (I'm in SoCal), but it's at a private dealer and I'm not sure if this thing is just super clean, or super covered up. My BS radar is going off a bit, and I'm looking for a mechanic that I can trust will really look things over. Not only mechanical, but the interior as well. I have a feeling they just dunked everything in leather dye. It looks way too freaking clean. But, at the same time, if it's legit I don't want to pass it up.

Anyone have any recommendations for Toyota mechanics/dealers, or better yet, anyone mind checking this thing out for me?

Good luck. If I were you I would be looking for a truck that spent all of it's time in the desert southwest / SoCal. Rust causes more headaches than anything. My 13 y/o 100 does not have any rust at all, because it has spent it's whole life in SoCal. A rig from the PNW on the other hand most likely will have significant rust underneath. There are ton's of soccer Mom owned 100's floating around in SoCal alone.

At this point, I'm looking just about anywhere in the surrounding states. I've purchased vehicles from the east coast so I'm well aware of the dangers (that isn't to say I don't care about rust).

While there are 100's around, I've yet to find anything that's what I'm looking for. The asking price is either well above what I think is fair/my price range, or it's a piece of crap. However, I have been pretty darn picky, so that hasn't helped. If you can point me to the page with all the cherry soccer mom 100's, I'll be forever grateful. :D

A Lexus dealer can print out service history if you supply the vin number.
