Hi ,
My LC100 is 167000 miles, I'm going to do the serpentine belt (and the TB and water pump)
I also want to change the tensioner pulleys(50$).

Question:
Am I stupid and too safe ?
Should I replace the whole belt tensioner? (100$)

The tensioner is only 50$ more than the pulley only but I'm already around 650$ for all the parts, so...

Thanks

why not wait until 180k when your rig is due for the TB and water pump? then, at that time replace all the other stuff "while you're in there".

has your belt tensioner or pulley failed on you?

why not wait until 180k.../...
suppose to change but I have to do this in the driveway...We are in september, I'm not working (motobike accident)and the LC is not even the main car
180K might be reach in January, 4 to 8 feet of snow all around, temperature will be around -10F or -20F, I'll be working all day long and the LC might be the main car.
In addition, the first one was replaced @ 85K, in january 2006
So, I want to do it now.

Just don't know if, the pulley tensionner is due or not...no symptom and nothing about it on the board
But I remember I had on broken (Dodge Dakota) and it was a big mess to be able to drive the last 4 miles to the house (had to wait 1 hour each 1 mile to prevent over heating)
